Java – String trim() Method

Description:

This method returns a copy of the string, with leading and trailing whitespace omitted.

Syntax:

public String trim()

Parameters:

Here is the detail of parameters:

  • NA

Return Value:

  • It returns a copy of this string with leading and trailing white space removed, or this string if it has no leading or trailing white space.

Example:

import java.io.*;

public class Test{
   public static void main(String args[]){
      String Str = new String("   Welcome to Dineshonjava.com   ");

      System.out.print("Return Value :" );
      System.out.println(Str.trim() );
   }
}

This produces following result:

output:
Return Value :Welcome to Dineshonjava.com
